This week, we have Kareena Kapoor, whose secrets seem to be under threat. Karan grills her about her best friends in the industry, because 'Kareena only befriends people who are not a threat to her.'
The actress is joined by her boyfriend Shahid Kapur, and sister Karisma. Here's a sneak peek at the newest Koffee With Karan.

Karan: Who are really your friends, Bebo?

Kareena: laughs � Oh god!

Karan: Because the whole story goes that Kareena only befriends people who are not a threat to her...

Kareena: Oh my god! What is this... I don't think so... But the only actress I think I am closest to is Amrita Arora. She is my only genuine best friend whose an actress.

Karan: Three years Shahid, with Kareena. How would you best define your relationship?

Shahid: It goes beyond words. She is the centre of my life. I can't think of a day without her. I am very thankful to God for having her in my life. I think I am very lucky.

Karan: Is she the hyper hysterical girlfriend? Is she the where you are, what you are doing kind of girl friend?

Shahid: She has calmed a lot in the last three years but I think every woman has these insecurities. And I think it takes the two people to understand and deal with each others' areas of ups and downs. But I think... yes, I am sure she has... and so do I have these phases of insecurities which we all do... I think she has come to trust me a lot. It takes time for things to settle down.

Karan: You take up for Shahid a lot. Is that true?

Karisma: Yes, I do.

Karan: In what way? What does he do that he needs taking up for?

Karisma: Well, I mean generally. When they are fighting with each other... I am always caught in the middle of it. And if I really feel that Shahid is right, then I really fire Bebo.

Hum saath-saath hain!

Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, the real-life love birds, have signed their new [fourth] film together. The film in question will be directed by Imtiaz Ali [SOCHA NA THA] and produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd. [the firm had produced GOLMAAL and BHAGAM BHAG recently].

The casting of Shahid and Kareena raises eyebrows primarily because the two actors had decided against starring in a film together after FIDA, 36 CHINA TOWN and CHUP CHUP KE. “I guess, people are deciding a lot of things for us these days,” Shahid laughs, “Its mere speculation. Not once have Kareena or I ever made a statement to that effect.”

Let’s talk of their new project together. “Our only pre-condition was, our roles have to compliment each other. Not more, not less. We were looking at several scripts that would do justice to our talent. When Imtiaz approached us with this offer, we couldn’t refuse it because of its novel premise. It’s something we haven’t attempted in the past,” Shahid reveals.

Reportedly, it’s a love story with a startling twist. “I wouldn’t like to divulge much at this stage. All I’d like to say is that it’s driven by two characters,” the teen heart-throb states. The film is expected to go on floors in March this year.

Incidentally, Imtiaz Ali is also in talks with Vipul Amrutlal Shah for a film that’ll star Akshay Kumar in the lead. “We are definitely talking,” Vipul tells me, “Imtiaz is currently involved with the pre-production formalities of the Shahid-Kareena starrer. We have decided to revive our talks once he’s through with that film. Obviously, Imtiaz can’t shoot two films simultaneously.”

Kareena trashes Ash, Bips & John!

The fresh season of Koffee with Karan is turning out to be too hot to handle for some Bollywood stars.

After Sanjay Leela Bhansali commented on Kunal Kohli on the show, Priyanka was caught in embarrassment when K Jo showed a clip where Kareena completely denied being friends with the lady which was in fact totally opposite of what Priyanka had stated.

Then came a moment of truth from Mallika Sherawat who boasted how she could have done Kareena's item song Yeh mera dil better in Don .

But the best was just around the corner with this week featuring Kareena Kapoor and her beau Shahid.

On the show Bebo made her dislike of John evident and proclaimed that he was 'expressionless'. Always the one to please his girlfriend, boyfriend Shahid abandoned his diplomatic stance, and on being asked about the one leading man Kareena would never work with, promptly said, 'John Abraham'.

Kareena and Bipasha's tiff began when the two first worked together in the film Ajnabee.The two were shooting in Switzerland for the film and Bips decided to borrow Kareena's clothes stylist.However Bips did not ask Kareena whether she could borrow her costume designer and this is what got Kareena miffed.

However, John refuses to comment on the issue. All he says is that Kareena is a 'sweet girl'.

However Bips and John were not the only ones who Kareena took digs at,when she was asked to name one celebrity who had recently made a fashion faux pas, she said "I think Aishwarya as she recently wore turquoise coloured boots to an event,which in my opinion is a fashion faux pas."

Kareena also stated that she feels that she could have done Ash's role in Dhoom 2 better.Well considering that older sis Karisma was on the show,it is no surprise that Kareena took a potshot at Ash, Abhishek Bachchan's current fiance.

Nonetheless it seems like the three Kapoors,Kareena,Karisma and Shahid had a great time on the show with each other and Karan. Karan Johar seems especially happy with the rising TRP's of his chat show as he gets to know all the inside gossip about bollywood's biggest celebs.

Kareena Kapoor wants a break!

Kareena Kapoor, who has been working almost continuously since she debuted in Refugee, is all set to take a three-month break.

"I've been shooting almost non-stop ever since I entered the film industry with Refugee," Kareena said, even as she was shooting for Priyadarshan's new film co-starring Salman Khan.

"Last year, I had five to six releases, and now this year I have Bewafaa coming up in February, followed by Satish Kaushik's Milenge Milenge, for which I just shot for two weeks with Shahid Kapur in Dubai. Now don't you think I've earned myself a break?" Kareena Kapoor said.

This week Kareena Kapoor leaves again for Dubai to perform at the Global Indian Film Awards where she's been nominated for Best Actress for her role in Chameli.

"I was happy to be nominated in both the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories for the Screen awards. Chameli was a very special film for me," Kareena Kapoor sighs.

Kareena Kapoor was nominated by Screen for her performances in Govind Nihalani's Dev and Mani Ratnam's Yuva.

"That feels good. I didn't have much of a role in either Dev or Yuva. And yet, if I get appreciation for these performances from someone like Shabana Azmi who just couldn't stop praising me, I feel somewhere I must be making the right moves." Kareena Kapoor said.

"Shooting with Shahid in Milenge Milenge was fun." Kareena kapoor's resplendent face lights up.

"It's very important to share a high comfort level with your co-star. That's why I enjoy working with Akshay Kumar. We look terrific together in Bewafaa, my next release." Kareena kapoor said.

"He's a wonderful guy. I've known him from the time he was my sister's co-star and I'd just hang around her sets hoping some day I'd be doing what she is...Likewise Salman. He's known me from the time I was a child. He was my sister's co-star and now he's mine...I'd miss shooting with him for Priyan's film." Kareena kapoor said.

Looking ahead, Kareena kapoor sighs: "I haven't really decided what I'm going to do for the next three months. I've never had such a long layoff from work before. I don't know whether I'd get bored after a while. But I didn't want to be part of any film that wouldn't take me beyond what I've already done. After working with the likes of Mani Ratnam, Sudhir Mishra, Govind Nihalani and Dharmesh Darshan, I've to be careful about what I do next.

"Harry Baweja's next film where he is launching his son will be my next film. So as of now, I'm just going take a holiday, relax, go for a walk, catch up with friends whom I've been ignoring for so long...and spend time with my sister (Karisma) who's going to be a mother in March." Kareena kapoor said.

Hrithik Roshan had been having second thoughts about doing Zoya Akhtar’s directorial debut Kismat Talkies. It’s now official: Roshan Jr has opted out of Zoya’s film. As if that wasn’t bad enough, co-star Kareena Kapoor too has given the project a miss. Producer Ritesh Sidhwani (who runs Excel Entertainment along with partner and Zoya’s brother Farhan Akhtar) had earlier told us that they would start filming in May 2007 as Kareena had given dates from then on, but then Hrithik started demanding changes in the script making Zoya go hunting for a new hero. It is learnt that she spoke to Akshay Kumar, but he too gave her the cold shoulder. Apparently Kareena had allotted the same dates to Socha Na Tha director Imtiaz Ali’s next film. A source says, “Once Hrithik opted out, Kareena decided not to do the film either. When contacted, Imtiaz excused himself from telling us when he is starting his film with Kareena. “I am sitting with some people. Let’s talk later,” he said. The source adds, “Things haven’t been easy for Zoya from the time she planned the film. She was supposed to make her debut with a film titled Luck — By Chance in 2004. Unfortunately, the film never took off. But her tone clearly suggested that she was in no mood to defend the actors who have given her so much anxiety. them. Kareena remained unavailable for comments.
