Is Kareena Kapoor the new item girl?

What started as an innocuous experiment in DON where Kareena Kapoor was trying to seduce Shah Rukh Khan, singing, ‘Yeh Mera Dil Pyar Ka Deewana...’ has suddenly matured and mellowed to perfection in to be released movie of N R Pachisia’s, KYA LOVE STORY HAI, where the item song picturised on Kareena Kapoor is rising meteorically all over the country side. Then is Kareena Kapoor emerging as the new item girl?

In DON as well, she was probably the face of the heroine though Priyanka Chopra had a much larger role to play, and in KYA LOVE STORY HAI inspite of Ayesha Takia being the heroine, it is Kareena Kapoor who has emerged as the brand ambassador for the film.

The hesitancy and awkwardness that was apparent in a subtle manner in DON has been replaced with sensuality, is oozing with sexuality and thee is a lot of chutzpah in the whole performance, and choreography of Bosco has given lot of scope to Kareena to blossom on the screen in performance of multiple dimensions.

The economics of the item songs also works out in favour of the film as for films with small stars it becomes a USP and for the stars it is a good mullah for a small amount of work. Fall out at times is that the mainstream heroines are left on the side lines, but if the economics works out in favour, then this bargain is also worth striving for.
